Make requests using the て form.
The rule
て + ください shape verb is used to politely request an action. Depending on the situation, the formula may seem directive; an indirect request will sometimes be preferable.
Examples
ちょっとまってください。
Wait a minute, please.
ここになまえをかいてください。
Please write your name here.
Remember
- The demand is built on the て shape, not on the ます shape.
- Make requests using the て form.
Common mistake
Consolidate てください with てもいいですか, which is used to request permission.
