The rule
と思います is used to express an opinion. Structure: plain form＋と思います. Before と, a noun or な-adjective generally retains だ.
Examples
明日は雨が降ると思います。
I think it will rain tomorrow.
この店は便利だと思います。
I think this shop is convenient.
